The Meyer family has been running a highly successful motor vehicle specialist business in the central Franconian town of Ansbach for many years. The owner and master mechanic Norbert Meyer and his team offer, among other things, a high-quality vehicle service for all makes and models according to manufacturer specifications and professional repairs in the vehicle workshop on Windsbacher Straße. The master mechanic workshop of the motor vehicle guild is also a specialist company for caravans and electric mobility. The workshop team is also a specialist in the technical and optical restoration of classic cars. At the site at Ziegelhütte 15, which is only a "stone's throw" away from the workshop directly on Ansbach's south-east bypass and somewhat hidden away, Norbert Meyer offers his customers the full service range of an automotive paint shop, bodywork service and accident repair on four lanes of an industrial building. On the fifth lane, WashTec's SoftCare2 Pro now washes and maintains vehicles in XL format – 2.90 metres wash height and 2.58 metres wash width on a length of 7.70 metres. The building, which is designed as a head-end station, is clad with white plastic panels. On the left side of the building, a series of windows runs below the ceiling, so that the interior of the hall gives all customers a bright and friendly, inviting feel. StarTrack guide rails with LED colour-changing rhythms show every wash customer the safe way under the gantry to the stop signal. Meyer's Waschpark Ansbach includes three wide self-service wash bays covered by a shed roof. Two powerful vacuum cleaners, each of which is also equipped with compressed air guns, a floor mat cleaner and a self-service mat beater are available to all customers to clean vehicle interiors powerfully, conveniently and effortlessly. As soon as the mighty gantry car wash in a Silverlight design starts washing the vehicle, a brilliant light and foam show starts for the customer. WashTec's foam pre-wash FoamSensation displays a smooth, LED-backlit foam curtain that turns every vehicle wash into a spectacular visual experience, especially in the dark. The three washing brushes equipped with SofTecs Pur material ensure thorough, but gentle cleaning of the vehicle surfaces. Their work is supported by the high-pressure nozzles on both sides of the gantry as well as those integrated in the roof dryer. The car wash equipment also includes an underfloor wash. The Meyer's offer their gantry car wash customers a choice of wash programmes to clean and maintain their vehicles - "Our Best Wash Plus", "Our Best Wash", "Our Shiny Wash Plus", "Our Shiny Wash" and "Our Care Wash Plus", "Our Care Wash". Customers who select the "Plus" in the respective programme also receive a vehicle underbody wash. The wash for convertibles and the "quick wash" complete the wash programme portfolio. "We recommend the 'Our Care Wash' programme, i.e. without an underbody wash, to those of our customers who drive an electric vehicle," says Christian Meyer.
In order to avoid discussions and complaints from customers regarding insufficient quality of wheel and rim washing, the Meyer's opted for WashTec's optional "WheelFlash and WheelJet" package to guarantee customers perfect chemical application and reliable cleaning every time, even for rims up to 21 inches. Another good investment was the FlexStream rotary nozzle, the multi-talent of the SoftCare2 Pro. It applies the respective chemicals to all vehicle surfaces, performs an excellent high-pressure wash and dries the vehicles almost residue-free thanks to its rotary motion.
"We still have to 'paint' the access to the self-service car wash bays on the tarmac at the site for our customers. With that, we have also added the last detail we wanted for the time being for our commercial car wash," says Christian Meyer. So far, the rush of customers has been extremely disciplined. After all, access to all services on the site – gantry car wash, self-service car wash, body shop and car paint shop – is central. Nevertheless: Customers who then reach one of the three 5.20-metre-wide and 3.20-metre-high wash bays can enjoy the full-service benefits of WashTec's powerful, user-friendly and highly economical JetWash system model. The visible centrepiece for customers is WashTec's innovative SelfTecs concept. It offers a simplified wash cycle and also ensures better washing results. The main effect for customers is that the three programme steps "foam brush", "intermediate rinse" and "wax care" have been combined under the name "SelfTecs - Wash & Shine". The desired result: Customers only need to carry out three steps in order to achieve the perfect wash and care of their vehicle. The background colour codes in the display make it easier for them to maintain an overview of the process.
As impressive as car wash technology may be... it needs the right chemicals. Chemicals that allow WashTec's technology to clean and care perfectly. Chemicals that are economical and yet make vehicles shine again in top quality. Chemicals which, well dosed, can take on all the challenges of commercial car washing and master them too. Because the best chemical performance is achieved both for stubborn dirt on the paintwork surfaces, which is mainly caused by insect secretions, sticky pollen or bird lime and Attention... also from wet foliage – leaves then produce the so-called yellow acid and subsequently leave yellow stains on the vehicle paintwork. They are not visible on vehicle surfaces with dark paintwork. If a vehicle perfectly cleaned by the SoftCare2 Pro or in a self-service wash bay is rinsed free of stains with the right chemicals and then high-quality glossy paintwork protection is regularly applied in the form of a glossy care wax, any vehicle should be able to withstand all weather conditions without any problems.
The hot water supply and heating system at Meyer's Waschpark at its Ziegelhütte address is more than clever and extremely sustainable. In the basement of the industrial building complex, it becomes clear why the Meyer's don't have to worry about high gas consumption. Because they have "their" heat generated by biological means. The "central heating unit" is a wood chip heating system for which wood chips are used. Heating in a biological way sets an environmentally friendly example and makes people independent of traditional fuels and their fluctuating, currently exorbitantly sky-rocketing prices.
Among other things, the Meyer family attracts regular and new customers with a three-part glossy flyer that highlights the most important features with high-quality images and striking textual statements. His son Christian also has this to say about the multi-card: "If you lose your card, we can block it and the credit can be transferred to a new card." To promote Ziegelhütte 15 even more, Norbert Meyer uses the social media channels Facebook and Instagram, regularly posts information and publishes short videos. Christian's sister Tanja Meyer is responsible for the content and design of the company's Facebook page. Christian's partner Franziska organises and publishes all business news and photos from the "Meyer's". In this way, customers learn quickly and at first hand about current events on site. For example, that due to a break-in, vehicles can temporarily only be washed with the multi-card and that vehicles cleaned and maintained at the self-service car wash can be dried by WashTec's SoftCare" gantry car wash for only three euros. There are hardly any offers for self-service car washers of this kind in Germany and it is an absolutely inviting unique selling point in and around Ansbach.
